The Challenge

A client required a portable yet robust control system for operating and monitoring up to four air-driven pump skids. The system needed to support high-pressure operation, remote sensors, and safe control in hazardous environments, while providing operators with a simple and reliable interface.

Our Solution

Fife Control Systems Ltd designed and delivered an advanced PC- and PLC-based control system housed in a rugged Pelican Case, featuring a touchscreen operator interface. The system included:

  • Allen Bradley PLC, Ex-rated I/O, and a VTScada configured touchscreen.
  • Integrated pressure, temperature, flow, and pump stroke monitoring
  • Global Emergency Stop affecting regulators and discharge valves
  • Clear status indicators for comms, E-stop, and pump readiness
  • Automation & Monitoring of four pumps
  • Real-time monitoring of flow, pressure, and temperature
  • Accumulated flow tracking and estimated tank volume calculation
  • Portable Pelican Case enclosure for rugged safe area field use
